Writing principles
- Give each file one responsibility: persona in
SOUL.md, working rules inAGENTS.md, tool details inTOOLS.md. - Write short, verifiable actions, such as checking target, impact, and approval before external changes.
- Use minimum data and permissions. Never include secrets, passwords, tokens, or customer originals.
- Instructions do not automatically execute tools. Runtime and organization rules determine actual scope.
- Verify important changes in a test Room. A file cannot bypass model, tool, or channel permissions.
The Portal currently edits SOUL.md. Default AGENTS.md and TOOLS.md are supplied at creation and copied at first boot, but no direct Portal editor has been verified for them.
