Track Tasks and Milestones

Tasks tracks work by organization with grid and table views, Task details, organization statistics, Milestones, and CSV export.

Open a board

  1. Open Tasks and choose an organization.
  2. Select grid or table view. Find Tasks using search and status, priority, and Milestone filters.
  3. Open a Task to inspect status, assignee, reporter, due date, activity, comments, attachments, and linked material.

Use activity and linked Rooms or events to identify the creating Agent or automation. Do not infer ownership or cause from the title alone.

Update status

Move a Task on the board or change its status in details. Before marking it Done, check completion criteria, outputs, and the Agent's final result. Multiple users may update a Task concurrently; record the reason for important transitions in comments or activity.

Comments and attachments

Use comments for decisions, instructions to the owner, and blockers. Authors can edit or delete their own comments. Comments render Markdown and may create notifications.

Drag files into attachments or select files to upload. Task and Milestone attachments allow 50 MB per file; see formats. Download or delete files from the list. Before deletion, check references in comments and external work.

In Task details, select the link action in the GitHub area and enter:

  1. Repository owner.
  2. Repository name.
  3. Issue or pull request number.
  4. Reference type: Issue or Pull Request.

The Task shows the repository, number, type, and status saved at linking time. You can open or unlink the reference. This does not create, edit, merge, or synchronize the live state of GitHub issues or pull requests.

Create a Milestone

  1. Select Create Milestone on the organization board.
  2. Enter name, description, start and due dates, assignee, reporter, and any attachments.
  3. After creation, select the Milestone in each Task's details to associate it.
  4. Check progress and the Done count.

Removing a Task from a Milestone does not delete the Task. Check ownership and impact before changing or deleting a Milestone tied to a release or customer commitment.

Export CSV

  1. Apply search, status, priority, and Milestone filters.
  2. Confirm there are results; the export button is disabled when there are none. Choose Export CSV in the toolbar.
  3. Check the downloaded organization, period, and row count.

Exports contain organization operational data. Store them in approved locations and limit sharing.

Scope

Internal relay of instructions to Agents and automatic escalation are not ordinary board controls. Do not assume Task, Milestone, comment, attachment, or GitHub-reference actions guarantee automatic execution.
